BEAU

Beau came to F.R.R. in January 2009, after doing his time as a stray.

Due to sheer bad breeding and neglect Beau had several medical problems.

Beau had chronic, untreated ear and skin infections, he was also throwing out his hip when he walked.  He was booked into the vets on the 11th February 2009 to be neutered, before the vets started the surgery, at our request, they x-rayed Beau's hips, and found that Beau had extremely bad Hip Dysplasia, and that nothing could be done but pain relief.

However, if we were to keep him going on pain relief we would be unable to treat his ears and skin as the steroids needed to treat the infections cannot be given at the same time as painkillers.

Beau would have been therefore left with no quality of life, and be suffering constant pain from either his hips or his skin and ears .

Therefore on the 11th of February 2009, on the advice of our vets, we made the extremely hard decision that the kindest thing for Beau, was for him not to wake up from his anaesthetic...
